Our advice is not for sale.

Here is who pays us, and what that payment can and cannot buy. You can check every part of it.

01Who pays

Who pays, and for what.

The honest way to read any advisory firm is to follow the money. Here it is, in full.

The rule, in one sentence

No payment of any kind, from anybody, affects your screening result, your band, or the options we put in front of you.

WhoPays whatWhat it buys
Property owner, Strong or Possible FitNothingScreening, written result, and support comparing your options

02The conflict we have, named

Better said out loud
than found out later.

The only screening outcome that can lead to a fee from you is Unlikely Fit. The same firm runs the screening and would be paid for the advisory work. That is a real conflict, and pretending otherwise would be worse than having it. We are also paid by Providers when a project goes ahead. That is a second conflict, and we handle it the same way: one rate for every Provider, and the arrangement in writing before you choose.

What we do about it

The band follows from your answers, not from our opinion, and the result is in writing. If you disagree with an answer, we rerun it. And the advisory engagement is always optional, always quoted before it starts, and never a condition of anything.

What you can do about it

Take the written result to anyone else. It is yours and it is designed to be checked. Ask a licensed electrical engineer to review the site. We do not assess electrical capacity, so their view is the one that counts on power.

03The data boundary

What we never publish.

We may publish summary information about the market, such as how many sites in a province assess as a good fit. What we never publish is a name, a site result, or the terms of any deal. When a Provider passes on a site, their reason is counted alongside everybody else and is never attached to them by name. Nothing about your property reaches any Provider until you say so, each time.

04What we are not

Not a reseller

We sell no chargers, no software and no installation. There is no product margin anywhere in this business.

Not an agent for one Provider

We hold no exclusive arrangement that would make one Provider the answer regardless of the site.

Not part of the regulator

We talk to the Department of Energy (DOE) and keep that relationship at arm's length, deliberately. We are not an extension of it and we do not act for it.

Not a property broker

We do not broker, lease or sell property.
